DAVID & BRIGITTE
We are Engaged!! After 2 1/2 years we are taking things to the next step. And we would like to share our happiness with all of our family and friends! Picture taken by Mark O Events Leading to "Us"... We met at THE Ohio State University Schottenstein Center, where we worked together. David Asked Gigi to go ice skating with him. Gigi didn't realize that it was a date until she noticed that she was the only person that he invited. They were both horrible ice skaters and had to hold onto one another for the entire night. Dave made sure that Gigi was warm making sure her gloves were on tightly and her scarf was wrapped around her neck. He helped her with putting on her skates. He was quite the thoughtful person she thought. They went to dinner together and felt unusually comforatble with one another. They held onto each other's hands to stay warm and just didn't want to let go. After Dating for a few months they took a trip to Hocking hills to see the waterfalls and hike some trails. They took their time enjoying themselves while losing track of time. At the end of the trail they realized that it was not a loop and that they still had at least an hour of hiking to do before making it back to their car. Unfortunatly it started to snow and the sun was half down. The park was flooded so the lower shorter trail was severly damaged and suggested for only advanced hikers (which Gigi was not) Yet taking the trail above followed the edge of the cliffs which they knew would not be safe once it got dark. So they chose option A. Dave looked after Gigi the entire way not letting her out of his sight. He held onto her hand so make sure she was near and safe. She managed to slip and nearly fall into the water but he caught her and calmed her down. They got back safe and knew that they would be together forever. They are still holding onto each other to this day and plan to hold onto each other for the rest of their lives. ClickHereto see pictures of the Ring and our Baby! How David Proposed Dave went to visit Brigitte in Columbus and took her to Lucasville where they met with a breeder found their baby Diesel an adorable Shiba Inu. Dave then took her to Burr Oak State Resort Park. This was were two years before they had taken a hike and found a wonderful little waterfall along the path. They challenged each to climb it all of the way to the top as a race. Once accomplishing this they told each other that they loved each other for the first time. They seeked out the waterfall (which has not had water falling from it since they climbed it) to find the rock and watch the sunset. As the sky started to turn the color of fire Brigitte turned to Dave and found him kneeling with a ring in a little handmade box that he made with their initials on top. He asked her to watch all of the sunsets with him for the rest of their lives. She said yes and they watched the sun sink into the hills. Isn't he cute Our Plans As most of you know David has now graduated ((on the dean's list)I like bragging) from OSU and has taken a job up in Wisconsin at MacFarlane's. He will be undergoing a genetics project to come up with a new line of pheasants. I am currently in Columbus, Ohio juggling school and work and hope to finish everything up within 2 years. Although things are tentative, David and I will be finishing the above and get ready for a wedding in two years. So far our tentative dates set will be in May of 2004. We are hoping to shoot for the first since it will also be the wedding anniversary of Jane and Ron (Dave's Parents) Dave's Grandparents and Great Grandparents (on the Obringer side). So we all have some time to get ready. We are going to have the ceremony and reception in Michigan and probably make it a 3 day event (fishing trip included ;-)) and that is as far as we have gotten. Wedding Update and Info ClickHereTo See David as a baby!! along with a mini Mark Obringer and a Mini Brian Grieshop!! This is SOOOOOO CUTE!! UPDATE! Finally I got around to updating this page a little. In the past month I have been in or been through 5 states! Crazy! Ok, so now as most of you know, Doctors Hospital had layoffs and I was one of the fortunate ones to get the boot. Yes I was sad for a little bit but it gave me the chance to have a great 2 weeks up in Wisconsin and Chicago! (I can't find the pictures I took up in Chicago right now at Connie's but hopefully I will have them up on the computer soon.)After that I was miserably lonely for a week looking for a new job. which I got! I now work for UnionTools in the marketing department (known as the "WAR ROOM"). Amazingly I have learned a lot about garden tools (more than I thought possible) I never knew that UnionTools, Razor-Back, Craftsman, ACE, Landscape Gardener, Turf King...etc are all made by one place...UnionTools. They are pretty much just different colors and lables. But it's been interesting. And I guess that it's dealing with my major, so it can't hurt. Now with the wedding planning. Dave and I have for the most part picked out the place. It's going to be on the beach on Lake St. Clair. The food and activities haven't been planned out yet. And my parents are starting to get Ulcers about the planning. But I guess that we are that much closer. We just went to Jeff and Cindy Fullenkamp's wedding this past weekend and it was SO BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations to you both! So I'm taking notes. Diesel is doing great! he is now about double the size but still cute as ever! Even when I can't find my shoes! Well I hope to keep updating this page. Thanks for visiting. Please go to the message board and give some imput about the wedding. And Please Sign the Guest Book!! and put yourself on the map with the Guest book map! Love you all!! GIGIUPDATED UPDATE!!Well, last weekend we went to Bruce and Kelly Obringer's wedding. It was sooo beautiful. They did a great job! Congratulations to the two of you! You guys are so great together! I guess that it's either fate or just because I go to a lot of weddings lately...I caught the bouquet. SO, NOW it's official. Dave and I are getting married!! WHOO HOO!! I swear that I didn't fight for it, I have no clue how the girls around me ended up on the floor. ;-) Nah, I was a good girl. Only one girl had a black eye and the rest may need intense therapy, for a long time. So we had a wonderful time out in Decatur, Illinois. The job at Union Tools is so far so good. I'm learning a lot about the marketing industry. I'm still ready to elope after finding out how much stress goes with planning a wedding. Diesel is great. He has grown to a wopping 13lbs now. Half way there. David is still in Wisconsin:-( But, the USDA called him and we are hoping that they bring him back to Ohio. I miss him sooo much. So I hope that all is well in your homes, please keep us updated. You all mean so much to us! Thanks for Dropping in! Love, GIGITHE NEW UPDATED UPDATED UPDATE!!I have finally gotten around to this again. BOY A LOT HAS HAPPENED! Dave found a new job in Ashland Ohio. He is now an Embryonic Toxicology Biologist at WIL Research. Long title, but as Obie once said, Dave is the son that plays with rats and his fiance is the one who would probably let them go if she could. He loves his job so far. The people have been really nice and the benefits a 10 times better than at McFarlans in Wisconsin. So to go with the new Job he also got a new house here in Ashland. That was quite a journey. Ashland is a relatively small town surrounded by farms. We found a great house here that we both love and we even have Amish riding up and down the street. I will put some pictures up of it some time soon. Diesel is doing well, he just completed his first obedience training class. He was known as the “bad dog” but at least he was the COOL “bad dog” He wanted to pick a fight with all the other students. But he made it out with a diploma and will start up his next set of classes soon. I have practically had a full time job with the house and wedding planning. Who knew that planning a wedding was so much work! But then again I am the type of person to shop around until I get what I want at the price I want it for. So I guess that I can make things harder on myself, but I know that it will all pay off in the end. So talking about weddings, as promised, I have a page to explain the things that are going to be happening with the wedding, Places to sleep, eat, play, and well whatever you would like to do. So you can hit the link about the wedding and it shall take you there! Hopefully I will update soon again! Thanks as always for coming by to visit!
